KF PRISHTINA - Football History

The first football team in Kos.ova was formed in 1923 and it was called "Kos.ova". The team was created by soldiers seving in Prishtina Garizon. The first football games used to be played in the area where today lies the centre of Prishtina. Football team was active until the start of World War Two, and then again in the year 1951. In 1952 football team "Kosova" changed its name to KF Prishtina and played in First football league of Kos.ova, and in the Second Football league of former-Yugslvia. In 1983 Prishtina football club gets accepted in the First league of YUGO where it remains for the next 4 years.

In 1991 football club Prish.tina does not accept and agree to the violent measures that were being imposed to the kosovan sport by serbian authorities (shkijet). Other football clubs joined and they form The League of Republic of Kos.ova. After that, the teams were not allowed to play in stadiums so they would play and train in meadows. KF "Prishtina" returns to their football stadium after NATO strikes and the departure of serbian forces. At present, football club K.F. "Prishtina" plays for the First league of Kosova, which is not a member of FIFA or UEFA.

KF Prishtina - FOOTBALL FANS - PLISAT

Plisat - is the name for the football fans of KF Prish.tina. Plisat were formed in the 80s and they remain even today. When KF"Prish.tina" was in the first leauge of former-YU, the fans were banned from chanting "EOOO", because according to the communist regime at the time the chant was associated with Enver HOOOXHA!. After that the famous chant was replaces with the popular song "Besa-Bese".

Plisat and the football team became almost a myth in Kos.ovo where they lifter patriotic feelings among the population. Once Plisat were featured in the Guiness Book of World Records for making the longest flag in the world almost 120 metres long. There would be times when there were up to 40 000 fans in the stadium, 10 000 more than its capacity. On sundays when games are played, football fans from all over the country used to come and watch their favourite football team play. They would come from Mitrovica, Peja, Gjakova, Bujanovci, Shkupi, Tetova etc. During the ten year of oppression by the serbs Plisat were not active, however they reappeared again after the war, even at the first game when Prishtina face Tetova (1:1). The numbers of Plisat is growing with more football fans joining them everyday and they also support the basketball team KB'Prish.tina'. FOOTBALL Superleague - Round 2

Matches for Round 2 of Kos.ova Superleague
started on Saturday with the battle of Drenica versus Liria. Match was played in Mitrovice, due to the reconstruction of the Skenderaj stadium . Visitors dominated most of the game. They were first to take the lead and they were last to score in the injury time. With the win they are in top of the standings with full points from two matches.With the same result as the co leader from Prizren, Flamurtari won the "derby", the second team to do so after they produced a superior power against the rivals of their town. They scored three times, to secure the lead and were shaked tem ninutes to the final whistle from the penalty spot.The other team from Prish.tina and the top challanger to win the title this year, KF Prish.tina lost a very important match to the last years runner up, Trepca 89. The home team showed one more time how strong they are and how hard it will be for the oppossing teams to count them out of the title contention.KF Besa, the defending champion won their first match this season. A significant win against a very tough team, considering they played a match in mid-week for the all around Supercup against KF Teuta the Cup winners of Albania. They took the lead on the opening minute and they secured the win with a goal from their top scorer haxhi Zeka 10 minutes from end.

KF Prishtina- ULIKS EMRA

Uliks Emra, known as one of the elite goals scorers in the Kos.ova Superleague, is also one of the protagonist football players of Prish.tina, designed to be the most important acquisitions in the improving plans and play for the team during the upcoming season. Eventually, he made his first official appearance in the “Theranda Tournament”, winning the “Best Player Award” trophy. The event took place August 6-7, 2005 and KF Prishtina was the winners. He scored twice in the both matches played, won by his team.
In the following tournament “Burim Hatipi”, played in August 13-14, 2005, he was again the play soloist of the team, scoring twice, one on each match and helping his football team achieve their objective, winning the Tournament, the second in as many tries.
After the final match of the “Burim Hatipi” Tournament, Albaniasoccer.com had the opportunity to talk with the player himself about his re-location with the team, his plans and objectives he has for the upcoming season, including his desire to play with the Alban.ian National football team one day.
Q- After one year of absence playing with Liria, you have returned to the football team which you have won the National title in 2003. Can you prescribe your feelings?
A- Its great. The environment around me is very professional and I never felt like a newcomer. Everything is going great and is a pleasure to work with such soccer legends in Kos.ova as Fadil Vokrri and Fadil Murriqi. They are soccer icons in the town and I love the idea of the team having at the top leaders who know how the game needs to be played and are inspired by a winning attitude.
Q- What level can you rate the performance of the team in the last two tournaments?
A- It was well, all around. Particularly, the second event where the consolidation of the team appeared to be total. I think we have a very solid team and with a very young and promising talent for the future.
Q- From your point of view, do you think the team’s strength is as good as to stand up to the challenge of winning trophies, title and cup?
A- Yes, absolutely. I am sure we have the capability. Therefore, our objectives are above and beyond only two trophies. The football team is building for Europe. The club directors are doing an excellent job to prepare and fulfill all the needs this team needs to enter in European competitions and we all hope soon, we will have a chance to compete the best of Europe. But still are a lot of things to get done, rather then said.
Q- At the end of last season, you had quite few offers from inside and out Kos.ova. Why did you choose KF Prish.tina?
A- That is true. I had some offers from RENOVA and SHKENDIJA, both of Tetove, ZHEPCE (BIH), MARIBOR (Slov.enia) in the past. Not to forget, few months ago I went for a try-out with club PRIMORJE AJDOVCINA (Slov.enia), with which I passed all the tests. At the end, I refused all of those offers, because the conditions of the contracts were not the best. Financial terms and the length of the deals proposed were poor. That’s why I decided to come to KF Prish.tina. They pretty much fulfilled all my needs.
Q- What are your personal objectives for the upcoming season?
A- My main goal is to win the “Golden shoe” and the biggest achievement will be to be selected with the Alba.nian National team.
Q- How big is the desire?
Inexplicable. Very big that I do not have any words to prescribe it. A dream. Hopefully some day it will come true, as it did for Dallku (my teammate at Prish.tina), Cana, Hasi, Dragusha and any other player.
Q- Have you ever been contacted from any member of Alb.anian Soccer federation (FSHF)?
A- As we speak, NO. Maybe because the priority for the coaching stuff is the players activated abroad.
Who is Uliks Emra?

He is born July 27, 1983 in Prizren. His weight is 74 KG and his height is 1.78 m.
He had started to play soccer since he was 11 years old. At the time he played for SHKENDIJA of PRIZREN, for which did participated until he was 16 years old. Exactly, until after the end of the war. Later, he was selected with the juniors of Liria and after a very short period of time he moved up, playing with the seniors. He played the first match in professional level in year 1999. He became known and recognized after his second and third matches, both played in Prizren. He scored the third goal in the match against Beselidhja from 25 meters away (LIRIA – BESELIDHJA 3-1) and both goals (including the winning goal) in the match against Kos.ova of Prish.tina after he entered the game in the last 30 minutes. (LIRIA – KOS.OVA P 2-1). There is no doubt; those were the goals that changed the opinion of the coaches and the Media. After the end of his debut year for LIRIA, Uliks was the leading scorer of the team with 12 goals, not to forget in most of the matches he was activated as a substitute in the second half or rather in the last minutes. After one year with the team, KF Prisht.ina expressed interest for the talent. He signed with the team when he was 17 years old and played for the next three years with the club. In his first year with the squad Uliks was again the leading scorer of the team with 9 goals. During his 3 year tenure with the team of KF Prish.tina, in each one of those seasons he was selected amongst 11 best players of the season. Has played only one match with Kos.ova National team and is a member of it at the moment. He was captain of the Olympic team selected and has won the National title with KF Prish.tina in 2003-04 season.
After the end of the Championship, he moved to Liria. Played with the team all 2004-05 season, having his best year all around. Was the leading scorer for his team with 12 balls in the net and the third overall in final standings.
Uliks Emra, has also played against some teams from ALB.ANIA. Vllaznia and Lushnja both were selection with very good quality skills. And the matches played are remembered from Uliks as unforgetable with many good memories.
Also, he had a chance to be coached by the Alban.ian master of skippers MEHDIN ZHEGA, with which he had great relations.
